Amanda has been an Educator with over 15 years of experience. She has her certificate in Early Childhood level 4. Amanda or Mandy as we call her became an educator when one of her own children was unwell when he was younger with multiple food allergies. She was able to stay at home and earn an income at the same time. Now that her children have grown she has found this to be the best job for herself and family. She enjoys caring for children, watching them grow, helping them learn and experience new things. Mandy’s reputation as an educator is well sought after and she has many parent referrals.
Mandy lives in a very handy location for many parents travelling into town for work, she always has her home set up for children when they arrive with different activities ready to engage in. Mandy supports children’s learning by providing activities and experiences that comes from children’s interests. Outside there is a large open back yard for children to spend time outdoors. In the sandpit, on the slide, swings, ride-ons, chalk drawing, bubbles and water play are just some of the activities you will come across.
ACTIVITIES THEY PROVIDE:
Mandy also attends weekly playgroup. Music and movement. She has regular outings with other educators, planned and spontaneous trips on the bus, to the train station and parks. She also supports our group excursions and organizes trips to the fire station, local businesses, etc. While in care, children get the opportunity to do crafts, painting and learning skills in numeracy and literacy with a focus on the Be School Ready programme for her older children in care.
Amanda believes that home base education provides the best quality care for children as the ratios group size 1: 4 means children form a close bond with only one educator and other children in care which gives children a trusting, warm, safe environment for them to learn, grow and develop.
