Angela is the mum of three older children and nana to George, born in 2016. She has been an Educator with Home Grown Kids since October 2015. She has a level 4 Certificate in Early Childhood Practice and a current First Aid certificate.
Angela’s child led, play based learning environment provides opportunities for children to be involved in experiences such as art and craft, play dough, painting, baking, music, reading and imaginative play. She also provides many opportunities for open-ended creative play by way of loose parts.
She has a very large home with a playroom and sleep room for the children. Her outside area is fully fenced and children can have fun in the sandpit, with water, messy play, and gardening and there is space to run around. She also has a wonderful safe playhouse/slide and swing that her husband Dan built.
ACTIVITIES THEY PROVIDE:
Angela and the children explore nature in the big backyard of the North Shore with all the parks, beaches and bush walks around the area. They utilise many of the local playgrounds and attend regular music groups and all Home Grown Kids outings and playgroups.
Angela offers a calm environment where children learn through play and the programme is developed around the children’s interests. She believes in providing children of all ages equal opportunities to play and learn alongside each other, building relationships, learning off each other and caring for one another.
