ACTIVITIES THEY PROVIDE:
Over the week Jana’s group have a great balance of quieter times at home and getting out and about connecting with larger groups of familiar children through attending Home Grown Kids playgroups and outings, local music groups and play dates with other Home Grown Kids Educators and children. She provides regular opportunities for children to explore nature with outings to the local beaches and bush walks which are very close by to her home. Children also have the opportunity to explore playgrounds and parks.
Jana is calm and relaxed and doesnt get fazed by little things. Exploring nature and caring for the environment/respecting papatuanuku plays a big part in her programme. She has an in depth understanding of how children learn through play, how to support, extend and scaffold this and it is evident in her environment. Jana recognises that forming positive, reciprocal, caring relationships with aroha are crucial for children to thrive and learn. She encourages children to take the lead in their play, providing resources to support this.
