Welcome Bay, Bay of Plenty
Kay is a qualified and registered ECE teacher and has over 30 years experience in a variety of Early Childhood settings. Kay is the mother of three grown children and ‘Granni Kay’ to two young grandsons.
Kay’s home offers a variety of natural play materials and is play based focus which means Kay keeps most of her play resources out allowing children to make their own choices and have the freedom to explore. Kay is passionate in observing children’s interests and often creates her own clever resources and tools to support them. The children are offered a large garden which holds many magical spaces for adventure, discovery and fun.
ACTIVITIES THEY PROVIDE:
Kay attends music groups locally, play groups, community outings and play pods weekly with other Educators. Kay is aware of what is on offer in the community and takes advantage of this as often as she can.
Kay is a firm believer in a play based program where children can build respectful, responsive, responsible relationships with people, places and things. Kay feels children should be supported following the natural rhythms of the seasons and connecting to nature and real life experiences which develops positive strategies for learning. You can be sure there will be lots of opportunities for children to experience ‘hands on’ activities with natural and open-ended materials as they build social/emotional, physical skills, develop confidence, creativity and critical thinking.
