Maree is a mum to two teenage daughters. She has a Bachelor of Teaching and Learning (Primary) and has been involved in both primary and early childhood education for many years, returning to home based care in 2011.
Maree has a large safe indoor and outdoor environment. Indoors the warm, homely and inviting play room has a large number of exciting resources that fully supports all learning and interest needs.
Outdoors, the large area offers many spaces for adventure and fun. The climbing equipment provides children with challenges while the view to the road gives the children opportunities to make community connections.
ACTIVITIES THEY PROVIDE:
Each Wednesday (term time) Maree runs a free public playgroup. There are lots of opportunities for children to connect, learn through play and just have fun.
Each Thursday (term time) Maree runs her own free public music and movement session. Sessions are informal and are suitable for babies, toddlers and preschoolers. Children enjoy, finger plays, action songs, nursery rhymes as well as exploring instruments and sound.
Maree and the children actively explore the local community and neighborhood walks, picnics and play dates are popular adventures with the children
Maree is passionate about the benefits of home base care and believes that supporting children to develop positive early attachments is vital in ensuring a child is secure in care.
Having partnerships with families is very important to Maree and her home environment is a home away from home.
Maree recognizes the importance of outdoor play for young children’s healthy growth so outdoor play is very much part of the children’s care day.
Maree strongly believes in the benefits of home base care, especially the opportunities that it allows for building positive relationships and nurturing children’s emotional well-being.
