EXPERIENCE:
Rosalind is the mother of three teenage children and originates from Iceland and has been in New Zealand for the last year and a half. She has a background in teaching of all ages and has many years involved in Early Childhood Education.
HOME ENVIRONMENT:
Rosalind offer’s an environment that is all about the children. She offers the use of natural resources to explore, read, music, puzzles, gross motor skills and exploration. She also is a believer in using the environment and community as a learning resource and often attends library visits and outings to local parks.
ACTIVITIES THEY PROVIDE:
Rosalind is keen on using the community as the resource for children and often takes walks in the community to support children in a variety of ways, through challenging them physically and giving them the space to move at their own space. Rosalind also visits library time and has started attending local music groups.
CHILDCARE PHILOSOPHY:
Rosalind believes that providing children with love and affection helps them create a trusting relationship, and communicating with families is highly important. She believes children learn through doing and observing, so believes providing children with beneficial resources and experiences is paramount. This can be done through nature and exploration with in a safe and secure home.
