Sha has recently decided to have a complete career change and pursue her true passion, which is early childhood education. She is happily married, and has a 15 year old daughter. She is keen to embark on her level 4 certificate in early childhood education and holds a current first aid certificate.
Sha’s home is light, bright and warm, and has great indoor/outdoor flow to a lovely safe cobbled and grassed area for outdoor play/messy play. Her section is also fully fenced. Sha aims to provide a nurturing environment that feels like a “home away from home” for the children in her care. The children are considered part of her extended family and she values forging close friendships with the families whose children she cares for. Her home is walking distance to many wonderful parks and playgrounds.
ACTIVITIES THEY PROVIDE:
Sha takes full advantage of the benefit of having smaller groups of children in her care by attending regular playgroups and library visits. This helps develop social skills and wider friendship networks. She believes in learning through experiences and plans exciting outings to parks, playgrounds, beaches, Auckland botanical gardens, and the many other child friendly activities Auckland has to offer. She has a passion for nature and the outdoors and many of her planned excursions involve exploring the natural world around us. She enjoys planning creative ways to learn and provides the children with fun and stimulating activities including various arts and crafts, gardening, reading, rhymes and songs, water play, sensory play, baking and imaginative and role play.
Sha believes that childhood should be filled with fun, adventure and exploration. She aims to create an environment where learning through play is encouraged. She believes in the benefits of home based childcare for children in their first formative years where smaller groups ensure individual attention and that the children’s emotional needs are met. She aims to create a positive environment where children can grow, socialize and learn giving rise to confident, happy and settled children.
