Tracie has been part of the Home Grown Kids family since January 2016.
She has a level 5 NZ teaching certificate from Ashton Warner Nanny Academy in 2010 and after graduating has worked with all aged preschool children in a childcare centre before joining Home Grown Kids. She chose to become a Home Based Educator when her son Carter, born in 2015, was 7 months old so she could be at home with him but provide a nurturing learning environment for other pre schoolers.
Tracie has a fenced outdoor area and large deck which is set up for fun play activities for all age groups. She has an open plan living area which is set up with lots of interesting learning environments for children to choose from and explore. She has several beaches and playgrounds nearby which the children often visit.
ACTIVITIES THEY PROVIDE:
Tracie and the children attend Home Grown Kids playgroups and outings and a community music group. Children also visit the parks, beaches, playgrounds and other exciting community activities. In her home she provides opportunities for children to be involved in arts and craft, music, imaginative play, play dough, books, puzzles, cooking, drawing, water and sand play and outdoor play.
Tracie believes tamariki learn, grow and develop through exploration and that children learn in their own time ( ā tōna wā ). She understands that children learn through play and provides a nurturing environment for this to happen. She is respectful of family and whanau values, ensuring they are interwoven with her Te Whariki based curriculum.
